Cody William Norquist, 19, Olympia, stole home on May 14, 2017. He was held with love and surrounded by friends and family who thanked him for his inspirational battles with lymphoma and leukemia.

Known for his positive attitude and illuminating smile, he will be missed by many. Cody grew up in Olympia and attended Griffin School and Capital High School. His battle with cancer interrupted his high school career, which he was preparing finish at the time of his passing. He loved sports, especially excelling in baseball and football. A devoted Seahawks fan, Cody was very thankful to have had the chance to meet the team during his Make-A-Wish day.

Cody is survived by his mother, Rita Norquist, 75, of Olympia, who adopted him as an infant. He was predeceased by his father, Duane Norquist, and grandmother, Bessie Black. Other family members include a dozen brothers and half-brothers, sisters and half-sisters, and dozens of extended family from both his adoptive and birth families.

A celebration and remembrance of his life will be held at Griffin School in Olympia on Saturday, June 3rd at 2:00 PM. A potluck will follow the service. Internment will take place privately in the family plot at Mills & Mills Memorial Park in Tumwater.

Those wishing to honor him are encouraged to make a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Washington. #PrayFocusGrind
