Evelyn was born January 22, 1915, in Rock Island, IL, to Eugene and Ida Skinner. She took her first trip at age 2 on the NW Pacific Railroad, North Coast Line, to Roy, WA, to visit her grandparents, Julius and Emily Zimmerman. Evelyn's family eventually resided at the family farm. Her education included Emerson Grade School, 7th and 8th Grade at The Clark School (a one-room school house) and graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle, class of 1932.
Evelyn worked at Mt. Rainier Ordinance Depot until it relocated. She transitioned to administrative assistant at the Olympic National Forrest Service until she retired in 1968.

Evelyn's Faith and trust in God was very important to her. Equally as important was her love for her family and nature. She loved all of God's creations and especially enjoyed birds, trees and flowers. Her favorite poem is "Trees" by Joyce Kilmer. Evelyn had a wonderful smile, loved to travel, and had an optimistic outlook on life.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Kenneth Wolbert, daughter Carolyn Wolbert and sister Irene Moore. She is survived by her daughter Corinne (Wolbert) Adams, grandchildren Julie, Carol and Mike Cairone, great granddaughter Carli Cairone, sister Wanda Davidson and her family, nephew Neil Wolbert and the greater Wolbert family; all brought her great joy over the years.
