George Frederick Wambold was born to Jacob and Elizabeth Wambold on April 19, 1928 in Tacoma, WA. He passed away at his home on October 12, 2016.

George married Hilaria M. Wagner on May 24, 1958 who preceded him in death in 2002. He is survived by his four children: Allen Wambold (Hong), Linda Wambold, Laura Harlan, and Michael Wambold (Lori); five grandchildren: Christopher, Tyler, Mason, Carly and George; and one brother: Lester Wambold (Arlene). He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers William and Edward, and sister Elma.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers William and Edward, and sister Elma.

George proudly served as a Corporal with the US Army in the Korean War. He graduated from Fife High School in 1945, and continued his education by receiving two degrees; Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education from State College of Washington - now known as WSU. He worked for 32 years at Ft. Lewis as an Employee Development Specialist for the Civil Service until he retired in 1985.

George was loving and generous, with a heart of gold and a witty sense of humor. He was an avid gardener, loved woodworking and working on clocks. He was a loyal member of the Elks Club, member of Toastmasters and The Rhododendron Society. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
