Mary E. Schwarz was born in Knowles, OK on July 10, 1926 and later moved to The Dalles Oregon with her family. She moved to Olympia Washington when she married her husband, Edward C. Schwarz, on December 31, 1950. Mary is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands and 3 grandchildren. Diana Hassan with her husband, Rick Hassan and son Ricky Hassan and his wife Melinda. Sheryl Seggern and her husband Ken Seggern and son Shelby Seggern and daughter Cydney Seggern. Mary had many friends during her time in Olympia, however, has outlived most. Mary moved to Escondido, CA in 2006 to live with Diana and has spent the last 8 years with her. She also has 2 sisters remaining, Lucille Muehlhauser and Joy Franks out of a family of 9 children.

Mary was such a strong person; she worked hard all her life. She worked from 1950 until she turned 80 opening oysters, a very demanding and hard job. Her daughters always looked to Mary as a hero and role model in which to strive to be like. She took pride in her family and the strong bond between the members of her family. She was the greatest mother, kindest friend, and best cook - and always had time for anyone no matter how much she had to do.
Mary will be missed by her family, she always brought joy and light to everyone she met. Her most joyous times were when she was helping others who needed just something. No matter what was happening she could always find time for a family member or friend in need. She was someone very special to all of us and we will be missing her greatly.

Mary passed away at home as she wished, with both Diana and Sheryl by her side. She passed quietly and peacefully on March 18, 2015 at 4pm.
Those left behind will miss her greatly, but we know she is now in heaven and rejoicing with those who preceded her; all her family and friends.
