Robert (Bob) Michael Campbell, age 70, passed away in Olympia, Wash., on Aug. 31, 2017, with his wife by his side. He was born in Aberdeen, Wash., on May 11, 1947 to his parents Gail and Maxine Campbell. Bob's parents preceded him in death.
Bob grew up in Central Park and graduated from Aberdeen High, where he met his wife Raenette, then attended Grays Harbor College. He worked in the pulp and paper industry most of his adult life. He was a talented carpenter, woodworker and collector, capable of building anything from furniture to custom homes for his family. He also loved anything vintage, including furniture, cars and local historical artifacts. He collected and lovingly restored antique oak furniture, which filled his home.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending time boating and on the water, traveling to warm locations and local road trips. He loved spending time with his wife, his daughter Kelly, and playing fetch with his dog Buddy. He loved his siblings, sharing stories of family, spending time at the beach, new trucks, gardening and the humor in everyday life. He shared with his family his strong work ethic, a belief that anything is possible if worked at and that anything worth doing was worth doing right.
In addition to his wife Raenette Campbell, he is survived by his daughter Kelly Campbell of Kirkland, Wash. Other survivors include brother Terry Campbell and his wife Nancy of Redmond, Wash.; Dick Campbell and his wife Peggy of Bellingham; and sister Nancy Campbell of Seattle; as well as 18 nieces and nephews. Services will be held Sunday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. at Mills & Mills Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Rd. SW, Tumwater, WA 98512.
